How people willingly explore this eerie alien world I have no clue.  It terrifies me to think about coming into contact with any underwater creature.  Seaweed on my toes is enough to get me out of the water real fast.  I can’t believe people explored across oceans on ships without knowing a thing about what was under the surface.  I can’t believe people do it now.  The basis of so many tales about the dangers at sea is ”monsters” (which were actually just a species they didn’t know existed).  It’s not like these ”monsters” went away.  Just because we know it’s a “Regalecus glesne” now doesn’t mean it’s not still a terrifying serpent like sea creature.  Also, TENTACLES.  YOU COULD BE ENJOYING YOUR CRUISE ONE MINUTE AND THEN SUDDENLY TENTACLES.  NO!
